Amazônia 4.0 – Technological alternatives for forest conservation. The sustainability of the Amazon Basin is approaching its tipping point. Observations on climatic and ecological changes mainly in the southern Amazon show that the gradual transition of the tropical forest to an irreversible state of ecosystem degradation is rapidly approaching. Amazônia 4.0 tackles the urgent issue of climate change and deforestation, positioning communities in the Brazilian Amazon as effective managers of the forest that uses its natural resources to generate innovations, local bio-businesses, value-added products in all links of the chain, without losing sight of conservation, local employment and social inclusion.
